Did you know that the first Russian nested doll set was carved in 1890 by Vasily Zvyozdochkin from a design by Sergey Malyutin, who was a folk crafts painter at Abramtsevo? I didn’t. But Wikipedia did, so I copy and pasted that bit. Whatever. Point is, 100 some odd years later… Malyutin’s design has found a home in the kitchen. In the form of sharp pointy objects. The best kind of Matryoshka.
